Our privacy policy, written to describe this site as it actually works

No accounts, no analytics, no tracking cookies. Server logs, a Google Fonts request and an email inbox. This page explains each one and what you can ask us to do about it.

Status

What this site does with your information

This policy describes the buildwithecored.com website as it is actually built today. It is short because the site does little. Where it does something, we say so plainly.

Draft — pending legal review. This policy has been written to describe the site accurately, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel qualified in Nigerian data protection law. It should be reviewed and, where necessary, corrected before the site goes live. Last updated 20 July 2026.

What the website collects

Nothing is collected automatically beyond the standard request logs kept by the server that hosts the site. Those logs are created by the hosting infrastructure, not by any code we have written into these pages.

Server logs

A typical entry records the IP address the request came from, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response status, and the browser and operating system your device reports. Logs of this kind are how a host detects outages, blocks abusive traffic and confirms that the site is reachable from Nigeria and abroad.

We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else. Retention is set by the hosting provider rather than by us; where we have a choice, we keep them no longer than twelve months.

The contact links

This site has no server-side contact form. Every “contact” control on the site is a link: an email link that opens a blank message addressed to admin@buildwithecored.com in whichever mail application your device uses, or a telephone link that hands the number to your dialler.

The practical consequence matters. What you write in that message travels from your mail provider to our inbox. It is never submitted to this website, so the website cannot store it, log it, or lose it. If you would rather not use email at all, call or send a WhatsApp message to 0707 378 5797.

Cookies and tracking

At the time of writing, this site sets no cookies of its own. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising tag, no session recording and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

If that changes — if we add analytics to understand which materials pages are being read, for example — we will update this page before the change goes live and say what is being collected and why. A cookie banner appearing on this site without a corresponding change here would be a mistake; tell us and we will fix it.

Third parties

Who else is involved when a page loads

Three parties can see something when you visit. We would rather name them than describe them as “trusted partners”.

Google Fonts

The typefaces used across this site are served from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Your browser requests those files directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address, the page you are on and your browser details. Google states that it does not use these requests for advertising profiles. We have no visibility into what is retained.

Serves fonts · receives your IP

Our hosting provider

The company that serves these files keeps the request logs described above, and applies its own network protections against attacks and abusive traffic. It processes that data on our instructions and does not use it for its own purposes.

Serves the site · keeps request logs

Our email provider

Enquiries you send arrive in the Ecored mailbox, hosted by a commercial email provider. Your message and address sit there in the same way any business correspondence does, and are visible only to the people at Ecored who handle enquiries.

Receives what you write to us

If loading fonts from Google is not acceptable to you, blocking fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com in your browser or extension will not break this site. The pages fall back to your system typefaces and remain fully readable.

What we do with enquiry data

When you email or call us about a project, we hold what you have chosen to tell us: your name, your contact details, and whatever you say about your site, your budget, your timeline or your specification.

Why we hold it

To answer you, to prepare a quotation, to arrange a site visit, and to keep a record of what was quoted and agreed. Where a project proceeds, the same information becomes part of the ordinary commercial record of the job. Where it does not, the correspondence stands as our record of what was discussed.

How long

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for two years and then deleted, so that we can recognise a returning customer and pick up where a conversation stopped. Records connected to a supply or a build are kept for as long as company and tax law requires us to keep commercial records.

Who sees it

Ecored staff dealing with your enquiry. Where a project needs it, the engineer or supervisor assigned to your site. Where the law requires it, a regulator, auditor or court. Nothing else. We do not sell contact details, we do not rent lists, and we do not pass your details to other suppliers for their own marketing.

Marketing

Being in touch about a quotation is not consent to a newsletter. If we ever start sending updates about products or test results, we will ask first, and every message will carry a way to stop them.

Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023

Your rights over the information we hold

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you hold rights over personal data about you that Ecored processes. These are the ones most likely to matter here.

Some records we cannot delete on request. Where a supply contract, a tax obligation or a company-law duty requires us to retain a record, we will say so, explain the ground we are relying on, and delete it once the obligation ends.

How to exercise those rights

Write to admin@buildwithecored.com with the subject line “Data request”. Tell us which right you are exercising and give us enough detail to find your records — the email address or phone number you used to contact us is usually enough.

We will confirm receipt and respond within thirty days. There is no charge. If a request is repetitive or plainly excessive we may say so and explain why, rather than quietly ignoring it. We may need to verify that you are who you say you are before releasing personal data.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. We would rather you told us first, so we have a chance to fix it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry correspondence sits in a business mailbox protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication, accessible only to the staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. Please do not send bank details, identity documents or passwords by email — no legitimate request from us will ever ask for them.

Children

This is a business-to-business site about building materials. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under eighteen.

Transfers outside Nigeria

Our hosting, email and font providers operate infrastructure outside Nigeria, so data described here may be processed abroad. Where that happens, we rely on the transfer conditions permitted by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Changes to this policy

This page is updated whenever what the site does changes — a new third-party script, an analytics tool, a contact form that actually posts to a server. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised. There is no archive of earlier versions yet; if you need to know what this page said on a particular date, ask us.

Questions about your data — or about a project

Both go to the same inbox. Ask about a data request, or tell us about a site and what you need to build on it.
